A little over 3 years ago I posted about how I turned ordinary scrapbook paper into wall art with picture frames. Since then, there have been numerous changes here on RKC and the original post, which was in dire need of a makeover, has disappeared. The post needed some major updating because the photos were just......awful.
So I now present to you, the updated version of Scrapbook Paper Wall Art! And hope you pin this post as many times as the old post was pinned!
It really is very easy to create this look. All you need is 12x12 square picture or album frames, scrapbook paper, level, and hammer & nails.
You can make this project very inexpensive by purchasing the frames at Michaels or Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon. Grab your husband and kids, give them each a coupon and over several weeks you will have 9 frames at a low cost.
Coordinating your scrapbook paper is the best part! I could spend hours deciding on what paper I want to use and guess what? If you don't like it a few months later, you can always change it out for just a few dollars! Michaels often has scrapbook paper on sale 6/$1!
When I picked out my frames they were super cheap because they are actually album frames (and because they were red). I preferred these frames over the other picture frames because there is hardly any frame so more of the scrapbook paper is shown. I bought them at Michaels and have seen them in the store over the years so your store may still have them. Otherwise, I found these 12x12 frames.
As you can see below, my frames were spray painted brown to cover the red. I removed the glass because I wanted the textured paper to stand out.
The absolute BEST part about having this Scrapbook Paper Wall Art is that I can change it out with the season! Last year I wanted to make the wall Christmasy and realized I have 9 frames and there are 9 letters in the word Christmas!
