Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015Even though we're just getting to the end of September, I feel really late in the game with posting my fall home tour. For those of us that do decorate our homes seasonally, the start of fall decorating starts as early as August! I know many of you like to hold on to summer as long as possible, but this girl loves the change of season here in the midwest and after all of the heat and humidity this past summer, I'm more than ready for fall.

Since we have only been in our new home since mid-July, my fall decorating is pretty minimal this year. I'm still getting a feel for our new home and discovering my new taste and decor style. Very few things from our house in Wisconsin works in our new home in Minnesota. And besides that, I have recently discovered I am a minimalist

One of my go-to stores for holiday decor when we lived in Wisconsin was Gordmans (please note that the giveaway has ended from that link). I have always been able to find holiday decor (amongst many, many other items!) at Gordmans that you would not typically find at other home decor stores. I guess that is my favorite part about shopping at Gordmans! It's that cookie-cutter look that I try to avoid when decorating our home.

Lucky for me, and for all of us, guests can now conveniently shop online at Gordmans.com, providing 24/7 savings of up to 60% off department store prices, anytime, anywhere! There is also a new store in Edina, MN that recently opened.

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015My favorite find at Gordmans this year is this lighted grass pumpkin! It fit perfectly on the rusty red stool I got from a Facebook auction site this past summer. I love everything about this stool, especially the fact that the only thing I did to it was dust it off - the aged chippy and rusty appearance is completely natural.

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015The sign that I have rested up against the wall had to come home with me from Gordmans as well because I fell in love with the muted fall colors that were used. I had planned on going completely neutral with my fall decor this year, but our front entryway did need some color. The basket filler, also from Gordmans, complimented the sign and was such a super bargain for the size.

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015And do you see those old books on the lower shelf? Some of those books are hand dated all the way back during the Civil War. The handwriting in those books is so delicate and elegant. Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015All of my vintage books, except for the Little Women book, came from House Of Hidden Treasure in St. Charles, MN. This antique shop is the oldest house in St. Charles, MN and you can walk through the entire building to shop. It's both creepy and cool at the same time!

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015I will admit, I am struggling with this area. I'm not happy with the cabinet that I have placed below the mirror. My plan is to replace the cabinet with a metal bench as soon as I find a good deal on one. For now, a simple fall vignette with do.

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015In the kitchen I did end up going with a neutral theme. I was so happy when I found the sign at Gordmans and it inspired me to go with white pumpkins all over. They had so many white pumpkins for me to choose from!

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015And in case anyone is wondering about that DW Home Caramel & Salt candle, it smells so, so good. On my next visit to Gordmans, I will be stocking up.

Mini Fall Home Decor Tour 2015The white pumpkins on our half wall happen to be real - and I got a really good deal on them too! I paid $5 for 9 white pumpkins through a Facebook auction site in my area. I couldn't believe that I was the only bidder on the auction! Who doesn't want white pumpkins!
