Good For You Watermelon Juice Recipe

Watermelon Juice

In one of my previous issues of Fitness magazine, there was some really good information about watermelon juice. I guess before I read the article I never considered making a watermelon juice.  But then I started to think about how many times we have cut up a watermelon for an after dinner treat, and we would end up with so much left over. You can only stuff your belly full of so much watermelon before you start to feel really, really uncomfortable.

A small study conducted by the Journal or Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that watermelon can help your body recover after a workout. It has a large amount of L-citrulline which is an amino acid that can improve oxygen delivery to your muscles. (Source: Leslie Bonci, R.D.. Director of sports nutrition at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.)

The next time you have leftover watermelon, freeze the chunks to make a good for you juice or smoothie. Add a couple more ingredients and you will have yourself a sweet drink that's good for you!

Watermelon Juice Recipe

  • 1 cup frozen watermelon chunks
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup orange juice

Just add all of the ingredients together in a blender and mix! Super easy and super delicious!

Hey again! Now that I read a little bit more about you--I realized I met you at SoFabCon this past time! I was only there for the first day, but we sat together at the table to eat lunch on that first day! It was my first conference and I was with my friend, Ashley? Do you happen to remember that?...anyways, that is so cool that I randomly found you! Check out my blog, Enticing Healthy Eating sometime! I just started blogging this year and have a long way to go, but I'm really enjoying it so far. :)

This looks nummy! I found this lovely recipe on the Share Your Stuff Tuesdays link party and thought I’d stop by. I am currently doing a call out for no-bake recipes (especially non-alcoholic drinks) on my recipe link party, The Yuck Stops Here and would love it if you would bring this recipe and any of your other no-bake favorites to the party! The party starts tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm ET and can be found on my blog, Hot Momma’s Kitchen Chaos. I hope to see you there! HUGS
